Prof. Guo Jianchun was Awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars
Recently, National Natural Science Foundation of China unveiled the award winners for NSFDYS(National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars). The project Low Permeability and Dense Reservoir Acid Fracture applied by Professor Guo Jianchun from School of Oil and Natural Gas Engineering was funded 3.5 million RMB with the duration from January,2016 to September,2020, and this is the second time for SWPU to win the fund.
Born in Sichuan Province in September, 1970, Guo Jianchun graduated from major of Oil and Gas Field Development Engineering and earned his Doctor’s degree in SWPU in 1998. Now he serves in SWPU as dean of School of Oil and Natural Gas Engineering and deputy head for State Key Laboratory of Oil & Gas Reservoir Geology and Development Engineering.
NSFDYS is a natioanl fund to promote independent research and to carry out R&D among the distinguished young scholars who have already gained prominent accomplishment in fundamental research. It also aims at attracting overseas talents, and developing and nurturing a succession of top academic leaders in the forefront of world science and technology.
郭建春教授获2015年度国家杰出青年科学基金资助
国家自然科学基金委员会今天公布了2015年度国家杰出青年科学基金项目获得者名单，红宝石官方网站hbs123石油与天然气工程学院郭建春教授申报的国家自然科学基金项目“低渗与致密油气藏压裂酸化”获得2015年度国家杰出青年科学基金资助，批准经费350万元，资助期限为2016年1月—2020年12月。这是红宝石官方网站hbs123第二次获得该基金资助。
郭建春教授1970年9月出生于四川营山，二级教授，博士生导师。1998年毕业于西南石油学院油气田开发工程专业，获博士学位。现任油气藏地质及开发工程国家重点实验室副主任，红宝石官方网站hbs123石油与天然气工程学院院长。
国家杰出青年科学基金是国家设立的专项基金，主要支持在基础研究方面已取得突出成绩的青年学者自主选择研究方向开展创新研究，吸引海外人才，培养造就一批进入世界科技前沿的优秀学术带头人。

President Xi Jinping is to Inspect the Royal Guards During His Visit to the UK
President Xi Jinping’s official visit to the UK attracts nationwide attention in the UK. What preparations has the UK government done for Xi’s visit?
Generally, every year only two high-level official visits are held in the Buckingham Palace. And this time Queen Elizabeth II and Ryan Philip will have a formal meeting with President Xi and first lady Peng Liyuan at Royal Cavalry Inspection Court, and then they will inspect royal guards together.
The UK’s academia also expressed its expectation of Xi’s visit. The director of the London-based think-tank Chatham House said, ”China and UK’s cooperation in economy and investment are the symbols of golden age of Sino-UK relationship, and the visit is bound to cover a series of issues beyond economic cooperation, including climate change, energy cooperation and Syrian as well as Sino-Europe issues.”
The UK’s mainstream media, including BBC, Reutes and The Times, also had a lot of deep interpretations of this official visit. Other issues that the media pays attention to are what kind of agreements will Xi sign with the UK government, whether China will invest the UK’s nuclear power project and subway construction. To put it in a nutshell, people from all circles attach great importance to this visit.
习近平访英将检阅皇家近卫团
习近平主席即将开始的访英之旅受到了英国各界广泛的关注。那么英方对于这次习主席的到访，做了那些准备呢？
英国白金汉宫一般一年只接待两次高规格的国事访问，英国女王伊丽莎白二世将在皇家骑兵检阅场举行官方的仪式，和菲利普亲王一起在这里正式会见习近平主席和夫人彭丽媛，并一同检阅英国皇家仪仗队。
英国学界也对习主席的来访表示相当的期待。英国皇家国际关系研究所的所长在最近的一个采访中表示，目前中国和英国在经济和投资方面的合作，是两国关系进入黄金时期的标志，那么作为一国的元首习主席这次对英国的访问，必将涵盖一系列超出经济合作之外的战略议题，包括应对气侯变化、两国之间的能源合作、叙利亚问题以及中欧关系等问题。
英国各大主流媒体，包括BBC、路透社、《泰晤士报》等，也对这次习主席的到访进行了大量深度的解读。英国媒体关注另外的一个问题就是习主席访英期间，特别是中国是否会签署什么样的协议、是否会投资英国的核电项目，以及英国的高速铁路的建设。总而言之，英国各界对这次习主席的出访都是相当相当的重视。

Abe Ordered an Investigation into the Admission of the Nanjing Massacre into the World Heritage List
Japan's Kyodo News reported on October 16th that Prime Minster Shinzo Abe met the cadres of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) on 15th in the Prime Minister's office and ordered an investigation into the admission of the Nanking Massacre into the World Heritage List.
Files related to the comfort women were not included in World Heritage List this time and very likely China would reapply for it. Therefor Abe asked why all of this should have happened. In order to cope with the censership two years later, the LDP planned to establish an investigating team.
Japan once applied for the admission of the Siberia Detained Profil into the Memory of the World Heritage. Russian said that both Japan and China were doing so out of political intentions, but Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga did not agree, and he said that Japan’s intention was totally different from China.
The UNESCO committee secretary of the Russian government Ordzhonikidze expressed his sympathy for China's tragic experiences. But he also pointed out that similar situations still existed in many countries and it should be settled down between the two conflicting countries.
Japan had a strong response after the "Nanjing Massacre Files" was admitted into the Memory of the World Heritage. Japanese government said they planned to freeze the fund to the UNESCO.
安倍下令调查南京大屠杀入遗
日本共同社16日报道，日本首相安倍晋三15日在首相官邸会见自民党外交小组的干部，指示调查南京大屠杀入遗。
慰安妇相关档案此次未被列入遗产。考虑到中国准备再次提出申请，安倍称“应调查为什么会出现这样的事态”。为了为两年后的审查做好准备，自民党计划设立调查组。
日本也曾申报西伯利亚扣留档案登录世界记忆遗产，俄方认为日本和中国的申遗一样属于政治利用一事，日本官房长官菅义伟指出：“日本和中国的主张完全不同。”
俄罗斯政府的联合国教科文组织委员会书记奥尔忠尼启泽对中国的悲惨经历表示了理解，但也指出“同样的情况在很多国家存在，需在两国间解决问题”，
《南京大屠杀档案》列入世界遗产名录后，日本方面反应很大，政府随即表示计划冻结提供给教科文组织的经费资助。

Chen Yali won the first prize of the 1st Nationwide Universities Mathematics Micro-lecture Design Competition
This year’s competition was started in November, 2014, including campus preliminary, regional quarter-final and national final. All the entries were categorized into three groups by the curriculum: probability and mathematical statistics, advanced mathematics and linear algebra.
First the appraisal professors evaluated the national finalists online from July 5 to 10 and selected 97 of them to the final competition held in Xi’an Jiaotong university from August 19 to 20. Miss Chen yali from the school of sciences was honored with the first prize. The national awards list includes 2 excellent winners, 70 first prize winners and 117 second prize winners.
The competition is aimed at propelling the combination of information technology and curriculum teachingof advanced mathematics, accelerating the updating speed of teachers’ instructional theory, innovating the instructional design as well as enhancing the teaching ability in order to effectively improve the quality of the mathematics curriculum in universities.
陈亚丽老师获首届全国高校数学微课教学设计竞赛一等奖
本届竞赛于2014年11月启动，分校内初赛、地区复赛、全国决赛三个阶段进行。参赛作品按概率论与数理统计、高等数学、线性代数课程内容划分为三个组进行比赛。
2015年7月5-10日，评审专家对全国决赛作品进行了网络评审，评选出97件作品，进入全国决赛现场会评。8月19-20日，全国决赛现场会评在西安交通大学举办，红宝石官方网站hbs123理学院数学教师陈亚丽荣获一等奖。全国共评出特等奖2名，一等奖70名，二等奖117名。
该项竞赛活动旨在推动信息技术与大学数学课程教学的深度融合，促进教师更新教学理念、创新教学设计、提升教学能力，切实提高大学数学课程质量。

School of Chemical Engineering Held Activities about Traditional Culture
In order to let the youth have a good knowledge of our Party’s political theory and the value of traditional culture, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering has held a series of activities aiming at propagating traditional culture in 2015.
First, "tasting the essence of tea culture": 120 students took part in the process of identifying, making and tasting the tea.
Second, "reciting the classics of Chinese ancient civilization": Through studying, reading and communicating about the classics about Chinese culture, the young people enriched their knowledge and learned some wisdom about life.
Third, "experiencing folk custom about Dragon Boat Festival ": On the occasion of Dragon Boat Festival, more than 200 students experienced the process of making Zongzi and the custom of putting on colorful ropes for the partners.
Fourth, "attending the coming-of-age ceremony in Han Chinese clothing". It included 4 parts: sword playing, folk music, dancing dressed in Han Chinese clothing and drama performances. The most unforgettable thing was that the event showed every detail of the coming-of-age ceremony several thousand years ago.
With these relaxing but meaningful activities, the youth have come to understand better about Chinese tea history and our traditional culture.
化工学院以传统化文化为载体弘扬“四进四信”精神
为引导青年学生树立对党的科学理论的坚定信仰，发挥传统文化价值的引领作用。2015年以来，化工院开展了系列相关活动。活动内容如下：
一、“品味茶艺精粹”，活动中，120位学生代表亲身参与并体验了识茶，泡茶，品茶的过程。
二、“诵读经典国学”，青年学生通过学习，阅读交流一些中华文化经典作品增长了见识，获得了生活的智慧。
三、“体验端午风情”，200余位同学在活动中体验包粽子，吃粽子，为同伴戴上五彩绳等习俗。
四、“行汉服成人礼”，活动包括四个部分：舞剑表演，民乐合奏，汉服舞蹈和话剧表演。最令人难忘的是：活动再现了数千年前成人礼过程的每个细节。
总之，通过参加这些轻松但是充满意义的活动，青年学生对传统文化和中国茶史有了更多的了解。
