Russia Holds Victory-Day Parade
Russia held a grand V-day Parade to commemorate the victory of the World War II and the World Anti-Fascist War on May 9th. The parade was held on the famous Red Square, the landmark of Moscow. More than 20 countries’ leaders including President Xi Jinping were invited to attend the parade.
Accompanied with the majestic Russian military song Katyusha, more than 100 parade squares of infantry, drummers, mobile forces and various tanks, missiles and military trucks paraded through the Red Square. Among all these parade squares, the PLA Honor Guard won the loudest applause and the most sincere praise by virtue of their graceful march and resonant horn.
President Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan received warm welcome from President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Saturday morning. Accompanied by Putin, Xi, together with other distinguished guests from other countries, walked to Red Square and ascended to the reviewing stand to watch the Victory-Day parade. The next morning, Putin held talks with Xi. He pointed out that China was the main battlefield to fight against militarism in Asia in WWII, and millions of soldiers sacrificed their lives for this cause. He stressed that this parade was not intended to aim at certain countries, but to build a peaceful and tranquil future among countries based on the principle of equality and non-alliance.
俄罗斯举行胜利日阅兵仪式
北京时间五月九日下午三点，为纪念第二次世界大战同时也是世界反法西斯战争的胜利，俄罗斯举行了盛大的胜利日阅兵仪式。本次阅兵在莫斯科中心广场同时也是其最具标志性的建筑—红场举行，包括中国国家主席习近平在内的20余国领导人受邀出席。
伴着雄壮的苏联军歌《喀秋莎》，100多个由步兵、鼓手、机动部队以及各式坦克、导弹和军用卡车组成的方阵整齐推过红场。在这些方阵中，中国人民解放军三军仪仗队以他们优美的步伐和嘹亮的号子赢得了最响亮的掌声和最热情的赞誉。
习近平与夫人彭丽媛周六在克里姆林宫受到普京的亲切接待。稍后，在普京的陪伴下，习近平与其他国家贵宾一同步行至红场并登上阅兵台参观胜利日检阅。翌日清晨，普京和习近平举行会谈。普京指出：“中国是亚洲在二战反军国主义斗争中最主要的战场，壮烈牺牲了上百万将士。”他强调，举行这次阅兵并非针对某个国家，而是旨在基于平等和不结盟的立场上，在各国之间创造一个和平宁静的未来。

The First SWPU Campus Image Ambassadors Competition Held Successfully
On Apr.13th, the final of the First SWPU Campus Image Ambassadors Competition was held successfully at room 201 of College Students Center. The competition, co-sponsored by the SWPU Recruitment and Employment Office, SWPU Publicity Department and SWPU League Committee, and undertaken by School of Arts, is to select the image ambassadors for SWPU and its slogan is I’m Waiting for You at SWPU. Pu Yong, director of Student Affairs Office, Zhang Min, deputy director of the Recruitment and Employment Office, Lin Li , vice-dean of School of Arts, and many other leaders and teachers have attended the competition.
It took nearly one month for this activity to come to the final round since its beginning. 15 candidates stood out from the 31 competitors and made their way into the final through the net-voting and preliminary selection. At the beginning of the final, 15 candidates performed a group dancing as the opening show to arouse the excitement of the whole audience. Then, these candidates showed their talents respectively, such as singing songs while playing piano, dancing with the melody of accordion, classical dancing, sitcom and so on. After the judges’ appraisals, 8 candidates entered the last round. In the last round, 8 candidates have further displayed their abilities of language and logical thinking through their free speeches and answering questions about the conditions and history of SWPU.
The Image Ambassadors should not only have beautiful appearance but also should have excellent inner cultivation. In this competition, Ye Pu, from the School of Oil and Natural Gas Engineering, and Liu Tong, from the School of Electronics and Information Engineering won the first prizes. In addition, there were 3 candidates awarded the second prizes and the third prizes respectively.
红宝石官方网站hbs123首届校园形象大使选拔活动决赛成功举行
4月13日，由红宝石官方网站hbs123招生就业处、宣传部和校团委联合主办，艺术学院承办的“我在红宝石官方网站hbs123等你”首届校园形象大使选拔活动决赛，在大学生活动中心201成功举行。学工部部长蒲勇、招生就业处副处长张敏、艺术学院副院长林莉等领导和老师出席本次活动并担任评委。
本次活动经从准备、到最终选拔，历时近一个月的时间。经过网络投票和前期选拔，15位形象大使候选人从31位选手中逐脱颖而出，挺进决赛。决赛开始，15位候选人共同献上一曲舞蹈作为开场，点燃全场气氛。随后，候选人们分组进行了才艺展示，诸如钢琴弹唱、手风琴伴舞、古典舞、情景剧等等。在经过评委打分后，8位候选人进入最终一环节的比拼。形象大使不仅要具备良好的外在形象，更要拥有优秀的内在修养。最终环节中，8位候选人通过脱口演讲、校情校史知识问答两部分，进一步表现自己的语言组织、思维逻辑能力。
本次比赛中，石工院的叶璞和电信院的刘童获得了一等奖，另外，各有三位选手分别获得了二等奖和三等奖。

SWPU Held “I’m a student of SWPU” Speech Contest
In the evening of April 29th, The 2014 Awards Ceremony of the Youth League Committee , namely, “I’m a student of SWPU” oratorical contest was held at the academic report hall of the library.
First, Zhang Wenwei, deputy secretary of Party committee and secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission, Zhao Zhengwen, deputy party secretary, and Wang Ling, vice-principal, presented the awards to the prize-winning groups and individuals.
Next, Zhao Zhengwen delivered an address at the meeting. He hoped that the students of SWPU could stick to their dreams and faith firmly, and take on their responsibilities gallantly, and that they could link their personal fate and the destiny of the nation together tightly, integrate their personal dreams into the great Chinese dream, and transform their patriotic enthusiasm to practical action to facilitate Chinese Socialism. He encouraged students to seek innovation as their responsibilities and spiritual pursuits. He also stressed that students should lay emphasis on self-cultivation and enhance their mentalality.
The highlight of the meeting was the “I’m a student of SWPU” speech contest. Based on the distinctive features of its own school, each competing group from eight schools made a wonderful speech respectively. I’m a man of Geoscience fully exhibited the spiritual outlooks of the students from the School of the Earth Science and Technology. Senior professor Zhang Minghong, from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering shared the memorable stories and excellent traditions in the history of the school, and expressed his pride of being one member of the SWPU.
学校举行2014年度共青团三优表彰大会暨“我是石大人”演讲比赛
4月29日晚，红宝石官方网站hbs1232014年度共青团三优表彰大会暨“我是石大人”演讲比赛在图书馆学术报告厅举行。
校党委副书记、纪委书记张文卫，校党委副书记赵正文，副校长王玲为获奖集体和个人颁了奖。
赵正文在会上致词，他希望石大学子坚定理想信念，勇担时代重任，将个人命运与国家民族的命运紧紧联系起来，将个人的梦想融入伟大的中国梦，把强烈的爱国热情转化为推动中国特色社会主义伟大事业的实际行动，把敢于创新作为一种政治责任，一种精神追求，一种思想境界同时注重修身养德，提升精神境界。
“我是石大人”演讲比赛是会上的亮点。八个学院的参赛队伍立足本院特色进行了精彩的演讲。《我是地科人》展现了地球科学与技术学院学子的风采。机电院张明洪老教授向大家讲述了机电学院过去美好的故事、优秀传统，表达了作为石大人的骄傲与自豪。

Zou Zhangyin Achieved No.5 in the National Table Tennis Match
Recently, Zou Zhangyin, a student of School of Computer Science and Technology in SWPU, participated in the "Qoros’ Cup -- All People Involved" Ping-Pong Competition Series, and he won the fifth prize in the national final.
"Qoros’ Cup -- All People Involved” Series was co-organized by Qoros--the major sponsor of World Table Tennis Championships, HongShuangXi--the largest table tennis equipment manufacturer and Happy Table Tennis websit. In order to create a sports atmosphere for the fifty-third World Table Tennis Championship in 2015, the series covered 26 provinces and more than 100 cities in China, and tens of thousands of people have joined in this series. It has also attracted attention from the public mass.
The table tennis elites, standing out after the four stages of competition in the eight competition zones, gathered together in Suzhou to compete with each other in the National Final.
Zou Zhangyin participated in the Chengdu tryouts in December 2014, won the second prize, and was qualified for the national final.
邹章胤同学在全国乒乓球比赛中获佳绩
近日，红宝石官方网站hbs123计科院学生邹章胤参加“观致汽车杯——全民皆乒”乒乓球系列赛，获得全国总决赛计分段第五名。
“观致汽车杯——全民皆乒”系列赛，由世乒赛总冠名商观致汽车、中国最大乒乓球器材制造商红双喜、快乐乒乓网联合举办，为2015年第53届世界乒乓球锦标赛营造体育氛围。系列赛覆盖全国26个省市，100多座城市，数万人直接参与，受到几百万人关注。
全国总决赛在苏州举行，来自全国八大赛区、四个分段的乒乓精英相聚，一决高下。
邹章胤2014年12月参加成都赛区选拔赛,在1350-1649积分段取得第二名，获得全国总决赛资格。

Alumni Yang Changcheng was rated among "The Top Ten Outstanding Youth” of Petro China
On May 4th, CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation) released the result of the eighth "the top ten outstanding youths", and SWPU alumni Yang Changcheng was rated among the top ten.
The campaign was organized by CNPC in order to carry forward the spirit of the “May 4th movement”, commend the advanced person, set up the examples, and create a good atmosphere of endeavoring to an outstanding worker. More than 100,000 people participated in this selecting activity in CNPC.
Yang Changcheng was admitted to the major of Resources Prospecting Engineering in SWPU in 2001 and in 2005, he furthered his post-graduate study in SWPU, majoring in Mineral Resources Survey and Exploration, and was tutored by professor Jiang Yuqiang. In 2008, he graduated from the School of Earth Science and Technology and presently works as the deputy director of the new technology laboratory in the institute of exploration and development in PetroChina Southwest Oila ang Gasfield Company.
In merely six years, Yang has overcome many technical problems and put forward nine technologies with international standards. Besides, he was awarded prizes five times by Petro China and southwest oil and gas field company and was once selected as one of the “outstanding youth workers of science and technology ” by Southwest oil and gas field company.
校友杨长城被评为中国石油第八届“十大杰出青年”
5月4日，中国石油天然气集团公司第八届“十大杰出青年”评选揭晓，红宝石官方网站hbs123校友杨长城脱颖而出，被评选为中国石油第八届“十大杰出青年”。
评选活动由中国石油天然气集团公司组织开展，旨在进一步弘扬“五四”精神，表彰先进，树立典型，营造崇尚先进、学习先进、争当先进的良好氛围。经中石油各单位层层推荐，有10万余人参与评选活动。
杨长城2001年考入红宝石官方网站hbs123资源勘查工程专业，2005年考上红宝石官方网站hbs123研究生，攻读矿产普查与勘探专业，师承地球科学与技术学院蒋裕强教授，2008年研究生毕业，现为中国石油西南油气田公司勘探开发研究院开发所新技术研究室副主任。
杨长城在短短六年多时间，先后攻克了西南油气田特大型三高气藏高效开发、高含水致密砂岩规模效益开发及有水强非均质性气藏提高采收率等多项技术难题，形 成了九项具有国际水准的特色技术；先后获中国石油股份公司、西南油气田公司科技进步奖五项。曾被评为西南油气田公司优秀青年科技工作者。（地科院刁昱翔 倪静 杨小刚）
