1.On the evening of Oct.25th, Russian aviation SU200 flights，because of the serious fog haze， hovered over in Inner Mongolia about one and a half hours, until the cold air arrived, and landed at 2 p.m. in Beijing.
10月25日晚，俄罗斯航空SU200航班因雾霾严重午夜在内蒙古上空盘旋约1个半小时，直到冷空气抵达，并且于2时10分降落北京。
2. The first case of Ebola to be declared in Mali, a 2-year-old girl, has died from the infection.
马里声明，第一例埃博拉患者——一个两岁的女孩已经死于感染。
3. On Oct, 24th, President Xi Jinping, during talks with President Kikwete of Tanzania in Beijing, announced that Chinese government will fight against Ebola outbreak to west African countries to provide support for the fourth round.
10月24日，国家主席习近平在北京同坦桑尼亚总统基奎特会谈时宣布，中国政府将向西非国家抗击埃博拉疫情提供第4轮援助。
4. Intense air pollution is expected to strike China’s northern cities twice before November.

Transformer in Japan
A full-size transformer could transform in seconds jointly exploited by three Japanese companies. The height of the transformer is just 1.3 meters at present, but they are planning to create a 5-meter-tall transformer before 2020.
The transformer was named J-deite quarter; its prototype was finished with collaboration of Brave Robotics, Asratec and Takara Tommy. In Digital Content in Tokyo Exposition, Construction team has shown it and published the pictures and videos of its deformation process, asserting that there would be larger transformer in the future.
J-deite quarter can walk with two legs for 1 kilometer per hour. But it goes faster, namely 10 kilometers, after transforming to a car. There are motions of turning head around and elevating arms of the transformer in the video, of course the transformation process. But J-deite quarter walks a little bit awkwardly in robot-mode, not fluently enough as the real transformers.
The power supply of J-deite quarter is V-sido OS. Everyone can control it by a software designed by the inventor of the transformer. Research team had no plan to sell it in a large scale, thus just manufactured the prototype.
日本公司打造现实版变形金刚数秒完成变形
日本三家公司联合开发出一款现实版变形金刚，可以在数秒内完成变形。这款变形金刚目前只有1.3米高，但这三家公司计划在2020年之前制造出5米高的变形金刚。
这款汽车人名为J-deite quarter，其原型机是由“Brave Robotics”，“Asratec”和“Takara Tommy”三家公司合作完成的。建造团队23日在东京数字内容博览会上展示了它，并公布了其图片和变形过程视频，并称将来将建造更大版本变形金刚。
J-deite quarter高仅1.3米，重约35公斤。它能两条腿走路，时速1公里。但是在变身汽车模式后，它的时速可增至10公里。视频中可以看到这款机器人转动头部、抬起手臂等动作，当然也有变身过程。但在机器人形态时，J-deite quarter走路似乎稍显笨拙，不像真正的变形金刚那样流畅。
J-deite quarter使用V-Sido OS 供电，任何人都可以使用机器人发明者设计的软件控制它。研究团队没有大规模出售计划，为此只建造了原型机。

SWPU Volunteers Sparkled in 24th UK Education Expo
On October 27th, the 24th UK Education Expo ceremoniously held at Ritz-Carlton Chengdu, Sichuan. There were 6 UK colleges and departments in the Expo, among which 4 colleges and departments participated in Sino-British Principal Forum. The Expo provided a communication platform for both China and foreign educational circles and Chinese students, aiming at evaluating Chinese students’ abilities, making study and career suggestions for them, and laying the foundation of the study and development for those would-be overseas students in absolutely new education atmosphere.
SWPU attached great importance to this precious training opportunity for our students, and organized volunteers to the Expo. Li Siru and Chen Sihang from the Petroleum and Engineering School served as the interpreters for foreign headmasters and participated in the whole process, contributing themselves to proceeding Expo smoothly. In the meanwhile, the news department of SWPU Voice of Campus Foreign Language Radio Station has interviewed some guests from England and students on the spot. It didn’t only answer questions deep in the mind of a number of students in the aspect, but accumulating working experience and improving VOC popularity.
This voluntary reflected SWPU volunteers’ team spirit and dedication, and adequately showed our students’ elegant demeanors. At the same time,it has added luster to SWPU off-campus social practical activity.
红宝石官方网站hbs123志愿者为第24届英国优秀学校博览会增光添彩
2014年10月27日，第24届英国优秀学校博览会成都站在成都富力丽思卡尔顿酒店拉开帷幕。本次博览会共有6所英国院校参展，其中包括Bethany School, Alexander College 等在内的4所院校参会中英校长论坛。本次博览会为中外教育界和学生及家长相互交流沟通提供平台，旨在为有意向出国留学的学生作出客观评估，为学生制定未来的学习职业规划，为学生在一种全新的教育制度下学习和发展奠定基础。
红宝石官方网站hbs123十分重视这对同学们的宝贵锻炼机会，组织志愿者团队前往此次博览会。其中来自石工院的李思儒和陈思航同学担任了本次活动的会场翻译，参与整个活动，对本次活动的顺利进行贡献出自己的一份力量。同时，红宝石官方网站hbs123校园之声外语调频广播电台新闻部也对参与此次博览会的中外校长以及前往咨询的部分学生进行了采访，解答大家对此方面的疑问同时也丰富了工作经验的。
通过这次博览会，集中体现了红宝石官方网站hbs123志愿者的团队意识和奉献意识，充分展示了红宝石官方网站hbs123学生的风采。与此同时也为红宝石官方网站hbs123学生校外社会实践活动增色添彩。

Dip Experience from Petroleum Universities’ Libraries
Actively responding to the overall requirements of deepening reform and enhancing talents’ quality, further strengthening the integral ability of library service for teaching and scientific research entirely, SWPU library has carried out the campus construction of literature resources research, at the same time, actively organized professional and technical personnel to go out, to developlearning research about resources construction and information service in petroleum universities, absorbing the new experience continuously.
Recently, the library has organized part of professionals and technicists to go to China Petroleum University (east China), China University of Petroleum Beijing library to implementresearch study.
China University of Petroleum Beijing library curator Liu introduced us the overall condition of the library. Each director of department office presented the key point of service work as well. The library staff is relatively less, but it’s worth imitatingin improving management efficiency, meeting the needs of the new requirements to longitudinal stretch in teaching and research.
The experience of learning is one of the important measures to adapting to SWPU library reform general requirements, improving the ability of the library professionals and technicists, and enhancing the service capability.
汲取石油高校图书馆经验 为红宝石官方网站hbs123图书馆深化改革寻路取经
为积极响应学校深化改革提高人才培养质量的总体要求，进一步增强图书馆服务教学科研整体实力，校图书馆在深入各个学院开展校内文献资源建设调研的同时，积极组织专业技术人员走出去，到石油高校开展资源建设信息服务等方面的学习调研，不断汲取新经验。
近日，图书馆组织部分专业技术人员，赴中国石油大学（华东）、中国石油大学（北京）图书馆开展学习调研。
中国石油大学（北京）图书馆刘馆长向我们整体介绍了图书馆的情况，各个部室主任还介绍了重点服务工作。该馆虽然人员相对较少，但在提升管理效能，满足学校教学科研向纵伸发展的新要求等方面都非常值得借鉴。
此次学习取经是图书馆适应学校改革总体要求，全面提升图书馆专业技术人员内功，提高服务能力的重要举措之一。

Salon Featuring “Communication & interaction” Launched
On October 21st, in order to promote contemporary undergraduates’ further comprehension of themselves and adapting themselves to the colorful college life, the appealing salon themed “Open Your Heart and Perceive the Colorful World” was held at classroom A406 , Boxue building. In addition, the marvelous salon was sponsored by Society Science Union as well as Teaching and Research Section of Law School.
How many splendid characters of your own have been neglected? With the prominent question, during the game Discover The Most, the participants detected their own strengths and weakness from people’s viewpoints and better stimulated themselves respectively. The students were required to condense their rosy life into a picture tracing previous lives and scheming their step-by-step target of future. Through a range of activities, participants’ attitudes varied from cautions to preferable closeness. They also extended a genuine understanding of themselves.
Approximately at the termination of the activity, Li Long, principal of the salon claimed that only after sensing the ample acceptance, respect, affection and support can we keep confident when confronted with our future, work and unsuspected challenges so as to realize our dreams and accomplish goals of the community
“打开心扉，认识你我”主题沙龙举行
10月21日，以“敞开心扉，认识你我”为主题的沙龙在博学楼A406举行，本次活动旨在帮助同学们更好的认识自我，更快的适应大学生活。本次沙龙是由社科联、法学院社会工作教研室主办。
你的身上到底有多少被自己忽略的特色？在“找出之最”游戏中，同学们从别人的眼中发现了自己的优势和不足，在交流中更加清晰的认识了自我。过去如何度过，现在如何把握，未来又将如何规划？同学们将生命画成图，从每一个小阶段看生命的轨迹，把每一段轨迹连在一起，更加清楚了自己前行的目标。一系列活动中，同学们从拘谨变得亲近，同时也更加清晰的认识了自己。
“只有在群体中感受到接纳、尊重、关爱和支持，我们才能有凝聚力和信心与群体一起面对未来、工作和挑战，以此来实现自己的理想和群体的目标。”会长李龙说。

SWPU Students Crowned Outstanding Winner
in National English Writing Contest Sichuan Zone
On Oct.18th, Economics and Management School students Ai Yixuan and Foreign Language School students Wen Xueyi, on behalf of SWPU, took part in the quarter-final of the 2014 FLTRP (Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press) CUP National English Writing Contest Sichuan zone in Sichuan University. Ai Yixuan was crowned the outstanding winner and Wen Xueyi won the third prize. Ai Yixuan will participate in the 2014 FLTRP Cup finals in Beijing on Dec.11th, delegated Sichuan province.
The FLTRP Cup National English Writing Contest is the nationwide contest, sponsored by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, the Ministry of Education Colleges and Universities’ Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee and the Ministry of Education Colleges and Universities English Major Teaching and Steering Sub-committee. This is the second participation of SWPU since 2012 when the contest starts.
Ai Yixuan is a sophomore majoring in International Economics and Trade of SWPU Economics and Management Institute. In her spare time, she always reads various English abstract journals and news in order to experience the authentic expression, also listening to English songs to enhance the sense of language. The English writing of Ai Yixuan isn’t only of flexible sentence pattern, clear structure, but also the abundant vocabulary and profound thought.
经管院艾艺璇同学荣获全国英语写作大赛四川赛区特等奖
10月18日，经济管理学院艾艺璇和外国语学院温雪艺代表红宝石官方网站hbs123参加在四川大学举行的“2014年‘外研社杯’全国英语写作大赛”四川赛区复赛取得优异成绩，艾艺璇同学获特等奖，温雪艺同学获三等奖。艾艺璇将代表四川省参加12月11日在北京举行的“2014年‘外研社杯’全国英语写作大赛”决赛。
“外研社杯”全国英语写作大赛是全国性赛事，由外语教学与研究出版社、教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会和教育部高等学校英语专业教学指导分委员会主办。该赛事从2012年起举行，红宝石官方网站hbs123是第二次参赛。
艾艺璇是经管院国际经济与贸易2013级学生，课余时间，她经常阅读各类英语文摘杂志和新闻，体会地道表达，还通过学习英文歌曲增强语感。艾艺璇同学的英语写作词汇丰富、句式多变、结构清晰、思想较为深刻。
