The 1st “Civil Engineering Cup” English Reading & Sharing Seminar Opened
The 1st “Civil Engineering Cup” English Reading &Sharing Competition opened at 7 o’clock on the evening of October 24th, 2014. The competition was held at the same time in three meeting rooms, and the preliminary contests would last three weeks. The judges of the competition included teachers and head of each department of the Voice of Campus.
At first, the hosts introduced the procedures and declared an official start of the competition. Then, the participants went up to the stage, introduced the book one by one. In addition, some made PPTs for sharing clearer content. During the competition, the participants showed great passion for reading. It was not hard to see their serious and enthusiastic attitudes towards this competition. In interaction parts, the participants shared different kinds of English books, music, their innovative opinions and suggestions to the English Reading and Sharing Seminar. Finally, the hosts thanked the participants for bringing the audience a wonderful night.
The preliminary contests of The 1st “Civil Engineering Cup” English Reading &Sharing Seminar went on wheels. Thanks for the positive teamwork of related workers, as well as all the participants who have held earnest and active attitudes to the competition.
“土建杯”第一届校园之声英文读书分享会拉开帷幕
2014年10月24号晚七点，红宝石官方网站hbs123校园之声“土建杯”英文读书分享会初赛正式开始，本次比赛将分别在三个会场同时举行，初赛将持续三周。本次比赛评委分别有电台相关负责老师以及外语调频电台各部长。
分享会开始，主持人上台对比赛流程进行了简略提要后宣布比赛正式开始。然后，参赛者按顺序上台，进行有条不紊的书籍介绍、分享,除此之外，选手采用PPT形式使大家对其分享内容一目了然。分享期间，参赛者对分享书籍这项活动表现出了他们的激情，不难看出参赛者对此次活动的认真、热情的态度。互动环节，参赛者积极主动地向大家分享各类英文书籍、音乐等作品以及谈到对读书分享会的创新性想法和建议.最后，主持人对比赛结果的揭晓方式作出了解释，对参赛者的积极表示了真挚的感谢。
本次校园之声“土建杯”英文读书分享会初赛进行顺利，感谢比赛相关工作人员的积极配合，也感谢参赛者认真积极的参赛态度。

The Fifty-sixth Anniversary of SWPU
On November 1st, 2014, the Fifty-sixth Anniversary of SWPU, along with the Welcome Gala for the freshmen was grandly held at the first playground after almost two months’ preparations and rehearsals.
Serving as one of the most important and meaningful events throughout SWPU’s history, it celebrated our university’s 56 years old birthday and welcomed the freshmen who had just graduated from high schools as well. Leaders from all fields and the freshmen attended the celebration.
In the evening, light rain sprinkled. Along with the hosts’ resonant voices, the celebration was held punctually. Various programs like dancing, singing and playlets expressed a paean of the glorious history. Sun Yiping, party secretary of the university, took part in the magic show and added more pleasure to the night. Our foreign teachers and their friends also sang a wonderful song to celebrate the anniversary in their own ways. During the whole night, our university was immersed in a pleasant atmosphere.
This celebration reflected SWPU’s memorable history, its beauteous wish of the future and also our students’ team spirit and dedication. It would be another remarkable footprint in the development of SWPU.

2014年11月1日傍晚，红宝石官方网站hbs123五十六周年校庆暨2014级迎新晚会经过近两个月的紧张准备，在一期足球场隆重举行。
作为西南石大历史上最具意义的时刻之一，这场庆典是为了庆祝红宝石官方网站hbs123五十六岁的生日，也是为了迎接2014级刚从高中毕业的大一新生。学校各级领导和全体大一新生共同参加了这场盛会。
傍晚，天上下着小雨，随着主持人嘹亮的声音，晚会如期开始。跳舞，唱歌和短剧，丰富多彩的节目演绎出一曲光辉历史的赞歌。孙一平书记也与同学们亲切互动，参与了魔术表演，为这个夜晚增添了欢乐。来自各国的外教和他们的朋友们也献上美妙的歌声，用他们自己的方式庆祝这个难忘的日子。
这场盛会再现了红宝石官方网站hbs123的光荣历史，表达了红宝石官方网站hbs123的美好未来的愿景，也表现出西南石大人的团队精神，奉献精神和吃苦耐劳的品质。它必将成为西南石大发展道路上又一个深深的足迹。

Children's Club Popped up in New York
Recently, in New York, USA, a special club popped up. Music was deafening, people twisted and danced crazily with loud music. But the main body of these "night cafe" is a group of children with an average age of 6.
This hit nightclub is situated in Manhattan, and the pub's "VIP rooms" only open to the children between 6 to 12 years old, so that they can feel the atmosphere of nightclubs in advance, like electronic music and dance floor and etc..
The stage area, functioning as the most attractive area, stood a 8 year-old DJ called Elton. Elton is the son of the staff. "This place is fantastic!" , he told reporters. At that evening, the club held a Halloween theme party for 4 hours, during which Elton jumped onto the table, and was proud for himself as a DJ.
A performer dressed like a robot, with His legs, hands, head, and other parts of his body wrapped with LEDs, presented his performances which attracted all people’s attention. Atmosphere heated when he sprayed dry ice towards the crowd.
New York's famous nightclub held a special activity for children every month. More than 300 children and their families participated in the activity. A mother who is a secretary of the lawyer, loudly told reporters: "I love here, and my daughter had a good time here as well."
Although the environment is a nightclub, the organizers strictly controlled the nightclub from other adult-culture. Cup cakes replaced wines, and music underwent a strict censorship on the content, so that the volume size of the music won’t affect the children's physical and mental health.
纽约现儿童夜店：DJ仅8岁 蛋糕替代酒
近日，在美国纽约流行起一种特殊的夜店，夜店里音乐震耳欲聋，人们随着音乐疯狂扭动和舞蹈，但这些“夜店咖”的主角却是一群平均年龄为6岁的儿童。
这家在纽约曼哈顿火得不行的夜店，该店的“VIP”客房专为年龄在6岁到12岁之间的儿童们开放，让他们能提前感受夜店的滋味：电子乐和舞池。
在该店最受关注的舞台区，有一名年纪为8岁的DJ埃尔顿。埃尔顿是一名夜店组织方人员的儿子，他告诉记者，“这里太棒了！”当天晚上，这里举行了时间为4小时的万圣节主题派对，埃尔顿跳上桌子，为自己是DJ而感到骄傲。一名穿着像机器人的表演者站上舞台，他的腿上、手上、头上以及全身都布满了LED灯管，而他的表演吸引了全场的目光。而当“机器人”向着人群喷射干冰时，全场立即沸腾了。
派对的组织者是一名男性以及一个太太团，纽约著名的夜店每月为孩子们举办一场专场活动，超过300名孩子和家属参加。一名职位为法律秘书的母亲，大声地告诉记者：“我爱这里，我的女儿在这里玩得很开心。”
尽管环境是夜店，但组织者除了让孩子们跳舞，还是严格控制了夜店其他成人的文化，比如用杯子蛋糕代替酒，播放的音乐也经过了内容上的严格审查，音乐的声音大小也不会影响孩子们的身心健康。

Postgraduates of SWPU Won the National Postgraduate Petroleum Equipment Innovative Designing Competition
From Oct.25th to 26th, the first National Postgraduate Petroleum Equipment Innovative Designing Competition was staged in Qingdao, SWPU won one first prize, three second prizes and eleven third prizes.
Postgraduates in the Electromechanical Engineering College of SWPU were very interested in the contest. Under the leadership of the teachers, the students were divided into 15 groups, all of whom had joined the designing competition and won the prizes. 101 groups from 13 universities like China University Of Petroleum ,SWPU, China University Of Geosciences ,Shandong University and etc. were in the competition. Each group was required to submit one opus. After the strict examination and verification, along with an oral reply, seven first prizes, ten second prizes and several third prizes were finally elected by the jury.
The theme of this competition was “Innovating petroleum equipment, tempering professional talents”, aimed to promote the fusion of the techniques of petroleum equipment and common equipment. Only postgraduates and doctoral students could get the access to this competition. The participants could show their opuses by 3D models, digital control system software and industrial design works and so on.
When the final competition ended, a free interflow was held among the students. After a heated discussion and research, people present signified that they would continue to communicate and study with one and another.
机电院研究生荣获全国研究生石油装备创新设计大赛一等奖
10月25-26日，首届全国研究生石油装备创新设计大赛决赛在青岛举行，红宝石官方网站hbs123获一等奖1个，二等奖3个，三等奖11个。
红宝石官方网站hbs123机电院研究生对这次竞赛十分感兴趣，同学们在老师的指导下，成立了15个小组参加竞赛并全部获奖。中国石油大学、红宝石官方网站hbs123、中国地质大学、山东大学等13所高校的101个小组参加了比赛，每个小组提交一件作品。经过严格的审核和答辩，评审组最终评出一等奖7个，二等奖10个，三等奖若干。
本届研究生石油装备创新设计大赛以“创新石油装备，锤炼行业人才”为主题，旨在促进石油装备技术与通用装备技术的融合。参赛对象为在读的硕士生、博士生，参赛作品分3D模型、数字控制系统软件、工业设计创意作品等。
决赛结束后，各高校参赛学生进行了自由交流，大家表示以后要继续交流学习。

ThePress Conference of Lucy in Beijing
On October 24th, an official greeting meeting of Lucy was hosted in Beijing.
Lucy, in which Scarlett Johansson starred, was directed by Luc Besson. When asked about his feeling of the movie, he said:” The mystery is life itself. So I cannot pretend to be able to give the answer to the problem in Lucy. But if you can think about this problem through this movie, it can also be interesting.”
Though Luc had kept no touch with Sci-fi films for 17 years, he still showed his enthusiasm in the process of Lucy’s filming. He thought that each role in scientific themes has infinite possibilities. Therefore he makes his boldest imagination as much as possible.
What are the viewpoints on the special effects in the movie? The great director said without a shallow of doubt:“ the special effects are merely a tool. Actually, most of early films had no special effects, or rather of a gregarious quality, but they can still be successful.”
《超体》北京见面会
10月22日，《超体》在北京举行见面会。
斯嘉丽约翰逊主演的《超体》由吕克贝松导演。当被问到他对这部影片的感受，他直言：“生命本身是最大的谜，所以在《超体》里我不想假装能给出答案，但如果能够通过影片想想这些问题，也是很有趣的。”
虽然吕克·贝松已有17年未拍摄科幻电影，但他仍然在《超体》的拍摄过程中表现出了他的热情。他认为在科幻题材作品中每个人物都有无限的可能，他尽可以发挥想象力。
如何看待视觉特效在电影中的作用？这位大导演十分笃定：“视觉特效场面只是一个工具。其实很多早期影片没有特效，或者特效很粗糙，但现在看来仍十分优秀。”
