A Student from Nanchong Campus was Awarded
Certificate of Patent
Recently, Liao Qian, a student from the Department of Oil & Gas Storage and Transportation Technology in 2013 at Nanchong Campus, invented a portable and heatable vacuum cup, which was awarded Utility Model Patent Certificate by State Intellectual Property Office.
This kind of cup has a volume of 300ml, powered by a portable power source. It can heat water from 30℃ to 40-43℃ within 30-40 mins.
There are heater band, booster circuit board and USB interface at its bottom and a temperature indicator is installed on the lateral of the cup. A USB cable is needed to connect the portable power source to the cup when in use.
Liao Qian said, “When I go out and feel thirsty, I can’t get hot water, moreover, portable vacuum cups are usually unable to keep warm for a long time. For these reasons, I got the idea to invent a new model.”
The cup can also heat milk, soy milk, mineral water, etc. It serves the old, children, and patients with gastrointestinal problems best in winter .
南充校区学生发明加热保温水杯 获实用新型专利
近日，南充校区油气储运技术2013级学生廖倩发明的便携式加热保温水杯，被国家知识产权局授予实用新型专利证书。
这种便携式加热保温水杯能装水300毫升，使用移动电源加热，能在30-40分钟内，将摄氏20度的水加热到40-43度。
这种水杯底部设计有加热片、升压电路板和USB插口，杯体外侧设计安装有水温显示器。使用时，用USB连接线把移动电源与保温杯连接起来即可。
廖倩说：“平时出去玩，口渴时只能购买瓶装矿泉水、瓶装饮料等，想喝热水，又没有加热工具，市面上的保温杯保温时间又不长，于是萌发了设计一种既便于携带又可以加热保温的水杯的想法。”
这种水杯还可以加热牛奶、豆浆、矿泉水等。在冬天，特别对于老人、儿童、肠胃病患者最适用。

A Woman Sues a Firm for Gender Discrimination
On September 29, 2015, a 25-year-old woman has brought gender issues into the public spotlight for suing a company for gender discrimination in employment.
“I was furious, disappointed and sad when I was notified I was being rejected merely because I am a woman. The company recognized my ability but still turned me down due to my gender, which I can not change,” the woman, using an alias Ma Hu, said.
Ma graduated from Northeast Normal University, a key university in Northeast China’s Jilin province, and gained her B.A degree in art in 2014. She planned to experience something fun and interesting in her gap years and then continue her study. In September 2014, she worked as an intern for two days during a probation period at one company, but she was rejected by the company eventually because of her gender. Therefore Ma began to sue the company for discrimination and she also started to pay attention to injustice and discrimination in employment for females.
The latest survey revealed that just like Miss Ma, more than 70 percent of women in China are not satisfied with China’s gender inequality . In addition, females feel dissatisfied in another three fields, including education, recruitment and marriage. Many women like Ma are standing up to make their voices heard.
宁用武大郎，不用穆桂英
在2015年，九月二十九日，一位二十五岁的女生因控告企业性别歧视而引发大众关注。
“当我得知我被拒绝的理由是因为我是一名女性时，我感到非常气愤的同时，也伤心和沮丧。这家公司明明已经认可我的能力，但却又因为我的性 别而拒绝我，然而我却无法改变这样的事实。”这位化名为Ma Hu的女子说道。
Ma毕业于东北师范大学，这是位于中国东北吉林大学的一所骨干学校，并且她在2014年获得文学硕士学位，她计划在她的空档年里做一些有趣的事和继续深造。在2014年九月，她在一家公司里做了两天的实习生，但是最终因为她的性别而别拒绝。因此她控诉该家公司，同时开始关注对女性就业问题。
像Ma一样的70%的女性都不满意中国的男女性别地位。从最新的调查显示，女性主要不满的其他三个领域分别是：教育、招聘和婚姻。许多像Ma一样的女性正在努力让她们的呼声被听见。

The 4th Flying Award will Start Internet Voting
on October, 9
It is informed by the Students Affairs Department that the 4th flying award special website of SWPU will be online on October, 7. On the next day, the announcement will be delivered that the internet voting is about to start from 8:00 on October, 9 to 18:00 on October, 13.
This year’s appraise procedure was started on April 28 and 140 application materials have been submitted from every school by May 31. In June, the appraisal panel appraised every material about individual student and clubs and societies recommended by every school and then the list of nomination was made public.
In accordance with the appraise procedure, when the internet voting is over, experts will appraise every material again to confirm the final list of Flying award and nomination award.
It is reported that a grand award ceremony will be held at the end of October. The list of winners will be announced at the scene. Besides, the winners of Entry Prize and Nomination Award will be awarded with certificates of honor and with 500 yuan and 2000 yuan respectively. The winners of flying award will be awarded with medal and 5000 yuan as bonus.
The Flying Award of SWPU was set up in 2009 and it is held biennially.
第四届飞翔奖10月9日开始网络投票
记者从学工部获悉，红宝石官方网站hbs123第四届飞翔奖专题网站将于10月7日上线，10月8日发布网络投票通知，10月9日上午8点至10月13日下午6点为网络投票时间。
本届飞翔奖的评选从4月28日启动，至5月31日，收到各学院的申报材料140份。6月，评定小组对各单位推荐的学生个人和团体材料进行了评审，确定了入围获奖名单，并进行了公布。
按评选程序，飞翔奖网络投票结束后，学校将再次组织专家进行终评，确定飞翔奖、飞翔奖提名奖名单。
据悉，学校将在10月底隆重举行颁奖晚会，现场揭晓飞翔奖获奖名单，对入围奖、提名奖获得者颁发荣誉证书，并分别奖励500元、2000元，对飞翔奖获得者颁发奖章和5000元奖金。
红宝石官方网站hbs123飞翔奖于2009年设立，每两年评选一次。

The Summary Conference of Freshmen Military Training was Held
Freshman military training performance and summary conference was held on September 25 in SWPU. With a performance of resounding slogan and excellent march-past, the freshmen finished their 15-day military training. College student volunteer fire department showed up as a special participation team.
Sun Yiping, Party secretary of SWPU, Gong Yuanhong, deputy director of students' military training office and Fang Zhiyong, minister of military office, attended the summary conference. The convention was presided over by Zhao Zhengwen, deputy secretary of SWPU.
Fang Zhiyong said, "I have got a keen sense of SWPU's attention to the military training for students. I hope you can turn what you have learned from the military training into inspiration and courage to overcome difficulties."
Li Chaoran, a freshman of School of Economic Management, said that he would make a good plan for his college life and study hard. Xie Wei, a member of college student volunteer fire department, said that he really felt proud of himself, and he can hardly wait to start his college life.

9月25日，新生军训汇报表演暨总结表彰大会隆重举行。伴随着响亮的口号声与出色的分列式，新生为期15天的军训交上了漂亮的答卷。大学生志愿消防队作为特殊的参训方阵。
校党委书记孙一平，学生军训办公室副主任龚远洪，武装部长方志勇。大会由校党委副书记赵正文主持。

Facebook Founder Promised Internet Help to Refugees
As one of the most influential social networks, Facebook plays an important role in a new campaign called “Internet Connecting Us”, which aims to make Internet available to everyone on the planet within five years. The supporters of this campaign include rock star Bono, actress Charlize Threon ,entrepreneurs BillGates, Richard Branson, TED ,UN Fund and Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales.
Mr. Zuckerberg said connecting the world is one of the most vital challenges for our generation since four billion people around the world still have no access to Internet. The campaign aims to bring Internet to these people by 2020. What’s more, He said this campaign could meet the needs of UN for development and eliminating poverty.

Facebook CEO 马克·扎克伯格今天在联合国大会上宣布了向联合国难民营提供网络援助的方案，并表示Facebook将会提供给难民更多的援助，让他们和家人保持更紧密的联系.Facebook在守护这条生命线上起着重要作用。
作为世界上最重要的社交网络之一，Facebook在一个名为“连接宣言”的运动中扮演举足轻重的角色，这个活动旨在让地球上的所有人在5年内都能感受互联网之便。马克·扎克伯格这项倡议的支持者包括摇滚明星波诺女演员查理兹·塞隆企业家比尔盖茨 理查德·布兰森，TED，联合国基金会，吉米·威尔士。
马克·扎克伯格表示，连接世界是我们这一代人的重大挑战之一，全球还有40亿人口没有接入互联网。这项运动的目标是到2020年让地球上每人都接入互联网。更重要的是，这一举措也能够适应联合国对于发展和消除贫困的需要。
