4.Through a intense and fierce competion, three students of SWPU won the first prize in the 2014 Aerospace Model Championships held in Qingdao, Shandong province，which was praised as the most essential competition in RC community.

HP Split into Two Companies
Hewlett-Packard (HP) is to split itself into two separate companies. One main business is PC and printers, and another responsible for corporate hardware and services operations. This is the latest measures of the technology giant to reverse its fortune.
HP’s share price has been rising sharply since early last year. However, it’s still inferior to the recent high spot, a far cry comparing with the period of Internet bubble in the 1990s especially.
HP and its investors were planning this spin-off long before. Hp has said it will consider the splitting PC business after completing acquisition of the software maker Autonomy in 2011. As a result of the strong dissatisfaction of shareholders with the case of Autonomy, and the demission of the CEO, Leo Apotheker, HP decided to shelve the scheme.
HP’s former chairman, Ralph Whitworth, said last Sunday that this would be the excellent choice in the process of HP renaissance, moreover, it would release the repressed huge value.
惠普计划拆分为二
惠普计划拆分为两家公司，一家主营PC和打印机业务，另外一家主营企业硬件和服务业务。这也是这家科技巨头为了扭转命运所采取的最新举措。
自从去年年初以来，惠普股价已经大幅上涨，但仍然远低于近年的高点。尤其与上世纪九十年代的互联网泡沫时期相比，更是相去甚远。
惠普及其投资者很早之前就在筹划这一分拆。惠普在2011年完成对英国软件制造商Autonomy的收购后，就曾表示将考虑分拆PC业务，但由于Autonomy收购案引发股东的强烈不满，并导致时任CEO李艾科离职，因此惠普才决定将该方案暂时搁置。
惠普前董事长拉尔夫·怀特沃斯上周日说：“这将是惠普复兴过程中的明智之举，并将释放被压抑的巨大价值。”

SWPU Students Won First Prize
in National Undergraduates Metallographic Skills Contest
On Sep. 28th, the third session of the National Undergraduates Metallographic Skills Contest finished in Ningxia, Yinchuan. SWPU delegation won one first prize, one third prize, and got the excellent team award. Wang Xiaohong, teacher of material college, won the outstanding instructor award.
The National Undergraduates Metallographic Skills Contest was sponsored by the National University Laboratory Work Research Institute and the Materials Science and Engineering Experimental Teaching Council, under the background of country’s advocacy to improve students' ability training. It aims to improve the related professional students' knowledge and ability, and stimulate students' interest in learning.
This contest was undertaken by the Northern Nationality University, and co-organized by Chinese Society for Stereology and Ningxia Analysis and Testing Center. There were 191 contestants from 59 universities including Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Si Chuan University and National University of Defense Technology. What's more, after the preliminary contest, there were 100 people contending the first, the second and the third prize, finally 35 people won the first prize. And only SWPU won the first prize among all universities in Sichuan.
红宝石官方网站hbs123学生在第三届全国大学生金相技能大赛中喜获一等奖
09月28日，第三届全国大学生金相技能大赛在宁夏银川落幕，红宝石官方网站hbs123代表队荣获一等奖1项，三等奖1项，学校获团体优胜奖，材料学院教师王小红荣获优秀指导教师奖。
全国大学生金相技能大赛是在国家大力倡导提高学生能力培养背景下，由全国高校实验室工作研究会、材料科学与工程实验教学研究会发起并主办。大赛旨在提高相关专业学生的知识和能力，激发学生学习兴趣。
本届大赛由北方民族大学承办，中国体视学学会、宁夏分析测试中心协办；来自清华大学、哈尔滨工业大学、四川大学、国防科技大学等59所高校的191名参赛选手参加了竞赛。经初赛，100人跻身一、二、三等奖的角逐，其中有35人获得一等奖，四川高校仅有红宝石官方网站hbs123获得一等奖。

SWPU Students Distinguished
in 2nd National Industrial Design Competition
On the morning of Sep. 28th, the 2nd National Industrial Design Competition announced its result in Guangdong province. The production Multifunctional Painting Rule designed by SWPU Mechanical and Electrical Institute students, Wu Lei and Tan Jiayang, won the national second prize, which is the best achievement that Sichuan province has been awarded in this competition currently.
The National Industrial Design Competition is a commonweal practical activity about industrial design and originality oriented to nationwide undergraduates. The biennial competition is not only the domestic most competitive undergraduates’ industrial design competition, but also to the highest degree of participation and level domestically. The theme of this competition is Innovative, Syncretic and Crescive. There are 27 divisions nationwide and 14,714 participants, totally 20,000 entries.
On Sep.28th , Wu Lei and Tan Jiayang participated in the 2014 National Undergraduates’ Industrial Design Competition award ceremony, also the opening ceremony of the Chinese New Prominent Design Award exhibition, which sponsored by Ministry of Education Colleges and Universities Industrial Design Major Instructor Guide Sub-committee, Guangdong Province Office of Education and Guangdong Province Economy and Information Committee.
第二届全国工业设计大赛揭晓红宝石官方网站hbs123学生表现不俗
9月28日上午，第二届全国大学生工业设计大赛在广东揭晓，红宝石官方网站hbs123机电院工业设计专业学生吴磊、谭佳阳设计的作品“多功能绘图尺”荣获全国二等奖，这是目前四川省在该项赛事中获得的最好成绩。
全国大学生工业设计大赛是面向全国大学生开展的公益性工业设计创意实践活动，是国内水平最高、参赛人数最多、竞争最激烈的大学生工业设计大赛，每两年举办一次。本次大赛的主题为“创新、融合、成长”。全国设分赛区27个，参赛总人数为14714人，参赛作品总计2万多件。
9月28日，吴磊、谭佳阳参加了由教育部高等学校工业设计专业教学指导分委员会、广东省教育厅、广东省经济与信息化委员会主办的2014年全国大学生工业设计大赛颁奖典礼暨“中国设计新锐奖”展览开幕式。

India Claimed Frontier’s Raid and Casualties by Pakistan
On Oct. 6th, India Official issued that Pakistan Military attacked Indian-controlled Kashmir region unexpectedly that day, causing five Indian residents’ death and three people’s injuries. Most of the casualties are local residents.
A military officer serving for Indian Ground Force said, approximately at 8 a.m., Pakistan Military fired a military sentry post and certain civil facilities abruptly. Subsequently, India adopted necessary measures as a counterattack as well. In addition, Pakistan violated the cease-fire agreement subscribed in 2003 between both countries, due to its offensive actions.
Since the division between India and Pakistan in 1947, intensified wars have broken out for three times, amid which these two countries have provoked for the identical intention of scrambling for Kashmir region. Hence, in 2003, India and Pakistan reached a consensus for the cease-fire agreement towards the actual controlling right of Kashmir region. However, beyond all expectations, both sides were repeatedly censured for disobeying the recognized agreement.
印度称巴基斯坦在边境向印方开火致5死29伤
印度军方10月6日说，巴基斯坦军队当天在印控克什米尔查谟地区向印方突然开火，造成5名印度平民死亡、29人受伤，伤者大部分是当地居民。
印度陆军一位发言人说，巴基斯坦军队当天上午8时左右突然向印方实际控制线以内的阿尔尼亚印度边防安全部队哨所和一些民用设施开火，印方随后予以还击。这位发言人说，巴方的行动违反了两国在2003年达成的停火协议。
印度和巴基斯坦1947年分治后，两国迄今已经爆发了三次战争，其中两次都是为了争夺克什米尔地区。2003年，印巴两国政府在克什米尔地区的实际控制线一带达成停火协议，但此后双方多次指责对方违反停火协议。

Sichuan Undergraduates in Hong Kong
From Sep.1st to Sep.5th, “ Sichuan Undergraduates in Hong Kong” social practical activity was holding, sponsored by Sichuan province Education International Exchange Service Center and undertaken by Sichuan Changjiang Vocational College . And 15 students from different universities in Sichuan have participated in this activity. Wu Xinchun, a student from SWPU Mechanical and Electrical Engineering College took part in it, through the recommendation of SWPU League Committee and the approval of International cooperation and Exchange Department.
There are 6 regular program categories of the five-day “Sichuan Undergraduates in Hong Kong” social practical activity, such as communication and fellowship, lectures and discussions, forum and sharing, visiting and interviewing, tour and sightseeing, kate and shopping. In addition, they also carried out various discussions and communications with the leader of Hong Kong Students, students in Hong Kong from continent and Taiwan, workers stayed in Hong Kong.
“Feeling different culture from diverse tour in Hong Kong, only experiencing with heart can you gain. It impressed me by diligent people, beautiful campus, open mode of education behind bustling city. As a student from hinterland, it’snot only a wonderful experience, but also the power forges me to step forward. ” Wu Xinchun said after his participation.
红宝石官方网站hbs123学生参加2014“四川大学生香港行”社会实践活动
四川省教育国际交流服务中心主办、由四川长江职业学院承办的2014“四川大学生香港行”社会实践活动于9月1日至5日举行，来自15所四川高校的15名学生参加了此次活动。红宝石官方网站hbs123机电工程学院2012级的武新春同学经校团委推荐、国际合作与交流处审定，成为2014“四川大学生香港行”活动中的一员。
此次“香港行”社会实践活动为期5天，常规项目主要包括交流与联谊、讲座与讨论、座谈与分享、参观与访问、游览与观光、饮食与购物六大类。另外，他们还与香港学生社团领袖、大陆和台湾在香港学习的学生、留港工作人士一起开展了各种讨论与交流。
“不一样的香港之旅，感受不一样的文化，只有用心感受才能收获颇多。繁华的都市背后，是无数人辛勤工作的汗水，美丽的校园，开放的教育方式，都让我新奇。对于一个内地的学生，这是一次美好的体验，更是督促自己进步的动力。”武新春同学在此次“香港行”的心得体会中说道。
