Communist Youth League Committee Launched a Campaign
to Correct Misspelled Chinese Characters
To carry out the socialist core values and to govern the province according to the genuine rules of law, SWPU Communist Youth League Committee promoted young volunteers to correct the misspelled words on campus, in streets and in public places on September 20th.
Volunteers promoted the mandarin from doors to doors. Meanwhile,they sought various nonstandard words and expressions and classified pictures they collected. On the one hand, students urged businessmen and shop owners to correct the misspelled words. On the other hand, they picked up and diffused typical wrong examples via multi-media like Internet and microblogs and etc., hoping more people could participate in this campaign.
The activity has strengthened college students’ level of writing standard Chinese characters, created a favorable atmosphere of standardizing words in society and contributed to uplifting the spirit and morality of people in Xindu District.
Through this activity, students involved deeply feel that it still takes a long way to go, and that only if we consistently preserve and spread Chinese characters can the great Chinese dream of national rejuvenation be fulfilled.
校团委学生会开展用词用字纠错活动
9月20日，为培养和践行社会主义核心价值观，贯彻落实依法治省纲要，校团委组织青年志愿者开展校园、街区、公共场所不规范用字用词纠错活动。
在校团委学生会的号召下,志愿者们挨家挨户地宣传普通话，同时寻找各种不规范用字用词现象并将收集起来的照片进行分类整理。活动中，同学们一方面通过各种恰当方式，督促商家、店主等改正错别字；另一方面挑选出典型的错例，通过网络、微博等多种媒体广而告之，希望更多的人能够参与到其中。
此项活动的开展提升了大学生规范使用汉字的水平，也有助于营造良好规范的社会用字氛围，为新都区精神文明建设做出了贡献。通过此活动，参与到此项活动的同学们深刻感受到任重而道远，只有不断传承和发扬汉字，才能实现民族复兴的伟大中国梦。

Whitney Houston’s Live Album Released in November
Clive Davis, the five-time Grammy winner， credited with discovering Whitney Houston in the early 1980s, anticipated to release Whitney’s first-ever live album nearly three years after the death of the legendary artist，Whitney Houston. Her Greatest Performances will arrive in November as a CD and a DVD featuring music spanning the incomparable and versatile singer’s two-decade career.
According to the up-to-date report, the splendid collection comprises of scores of magnificent live shows, including the unparalleled performance in which she appeared on the 36th Grammy Awards and intoxicated the audience with the original track “I Will Always Love You” in the fantastic film “The Bodyguard”, some portions of the fabulous and unequalled tour “Welcome Home Heroes” in 1991 and plenty of classic live shows of her.

Perfect end of Students’ Associations Recruitment
The recruitment of the associations in Southwest Petroleum University for three days came to an end on the afternoon of September 26th, with a total of 68 associations participated in.
It was carried out in the first Students’ Canteen on September 24th. During the process of recruiting, forms varied from association to association. To name only a few, a host of students were attracted by the famous anime named Spirited Away from Anime Club. In addition, skating team named “High-T” was invited by “Fengzhilun” Club and they were popular with many students. After all, it was wonderful on the spot and everyone took an active part in this activity.
This activity was quite successful and gave SWPU students a rosy memory. “This is the first step in our university years and there will be no regret or sorrow if we fight with all our strengths. We believe all students can harvest huge fruits from this and will enjoy a richer college life as well,” a freshman from Materials School said
红宝石官方网站hbs123社团招新活动圆满结束
9月26日下午，持续三天的红宝石官方网站hbs1232014年度社团招新活动落下帷幕。 共计68个社团及协会参与了本次招新宣传活动。
社团招新工作于9月24日在一食堂外由各社团自主展开。此次活动中，各社团招新方式种类繁多、风格各异。例如：动漫社采用cos著名动漫《千与千寻》中“无脸人”这一角色的方式吸引新生，而风之轮则邀请了著名轮滑队high-T为同学们展现了一场精彩的轮滑表演。总之，招新现场甚是精彩，同学们的参与性也很是积极。
本次社团招新活动相当成功，各个社团都有所收获，同时也为校园的文化生活留下了一段美好的回忆，相信在各个社团的带动下，全校同学的业余文化生活会更加丰富、精彩。

A Stampede Occurred in Kunming Mingtong Primary School
On the afternoon of Sep. 26th，a stampede occurred in Mingtong primary school, which was situated in Kunming, Yunnan province. There were totally 6 students died and 26 injured by 17:00 that day.
Lu Jia, Deputy Prefect of Kunming Panlong District introduced to the media that after the lunch break, the students’ stampede occurred in the dormitory. Mainly were students in the first or second grade. All the injured students have been already sent to the hospital, without life threatening.
Another student introduced that after the lunch break, students walked out of the dormitory, and there were some large pads in the dormitory building. Some classmates played by hitting the pads. As a result, the pads were overturned，which resulted in some little students slipping down to the ground. Then it made everybody terrified. Therefore, students at the back were running downstairs. During the process , the stampede occurred.
LuJia said the cause of the accident was under investigation. Furthermore, due to the fact that the scene was blocked, so the reporter couldn't enter the scene of the accident to view the situation. The specific reason remained to be further investigated.
昆明明通小学踩踏事件
2014年09月26日下午，云南省昆明市明通小学发生了踩踏事件，截止当日17时已造成学生6人死亡，26人受伤。
昆明市盘龙区副区长陆佳向媒体介绍: 学校午休后，在宿舍楼发生的踩踏事件，主要是一二年级学生。所有受伤学生都已送到医院，并且没有生命危险。
另有一名学生介绍，午休结束后学生们走出宿舍，宿舍楼里有几个大的棉垫。有的同学在嬉闹时击打棉垫，导致棉垫翻倒，压倒了一些小的学生，由此引发大家的恐慌，后面的学生向下跑，在此过程中，发生了踩踏事故。
陆佳表示，具体事故原因还在调查中。由于现场被封锁，记者无法进入事发现场查看情况，具体原因还有待进一步调查。

All Walks Of Life in Hong Kong Called For Normal Order
From September 28th to 30th, Occupy Central, a kind of illegal gatherings, was formally launched in HK. This activity brought many negative effects on Hong Kong’s economy and lives of ordinary people. All walks of life in Hong Kong called for normal order.
The Occupy Central forced some of the local all-night buses to stop moving, with some regions of Hong Kong suspending classes in 29th. Considering from the two respects of urban public transport planning and citizens’ security, the fireworks display, scheduled on October 1st, for the National Day, had to be canceled.
Hong Kong executive CY Leung reiterated that the government respected the people’s rights to express their views, but hoped that they would also respect the rights of road users.
Liang Junyan, Chairman of Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong, said anybody who incited people to sabotage Hong Kong’s peace with illegal acts would never be accepted.
香港各界呼吁恢复正常秩序
9月28-30日，香港“占领中环”非法集会启动，此次集会对香港经济及普通民众生活造成了严重负面影响。香港社会各界呼吁参与者早日停止违法行为，恢复正常秩序。
此次活动迫使当地多条通宵巴士停运，部分地区于29日全面停课。基于公共交通安排及市民安全方面考虑，港原定于10月1日的国庆烟花汇演将取消。
香港行政长官梁振英表示，政府尊重市民表达不同观点的权力，同时也希望市民能够尊重道路使用者的权力。
香港经济民生联盟主席梁君彦表示,任何人煽动用违法行动去破坏香港和平稳定,都是绝不能接受的。
