On September 2^nd, Times Higher Education (THE) released its THE World University Rankings 2022. Southwest Petroleum University has ranked 197^th globally in the indicator of industry income (Knowledge transfer), namely the research income an institution earns from industry.

This year, 1,662 universities from 99 countries and regions, including 97 universities from mainland China were on the list of THE World University Rankings 2022.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is one of the four renowned major rankings all over the globe, as well as the university performance tables on the largest scale to date. It assesses universities across five core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, international outlook, and industry income, hence to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons, trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry and governments.

In the year 2021, SWPU has made impressive progress in university rankings. To be specific, we reached 132^nd in “Best Chinese Universities Ranking” by Shanghai Ranking, entered US News Education’s “Best Global Universities” ranking 131^st in mainland Chinese universities, as well as 181^st in CWUR “World University Rankings”.（By Zhang Zhixiang）
