From July 27^thto 30^th, the finals of the First National Innovative Teaching Competition for University Lecturers were held in Fudan University. SWPU representatives from School of Computer Science, teaching professional Yang Wang and her team members, won the first prize and Special Award for Innovative Teaching Design. There were only 14 lecturers across the country won both awards. In addition, Southwest Petroleum University was the only one that won the first prize and the special award among the participants in Sichuan Province.

This is another important award won by SWPU lecturers in the national teaching competition. According to the status data of national Teaching Competition from 2012 to 2020, SWPU ranked 7^thin China and 1^stin Sichuan Province, and has ranked among the top 10 in China for four consecutive years.

It is reported that the finals of the First National Innovative Teaching Competition for University Lecturers have awarded 30 national first prize, 69 second prize, 99 third prize, and 15 special awards.
