Recently, the Dreamstar team, composed of SWPU graduates Meng Fan, Chen Siyuan, Ye Yingying, and Jiang Hailong, won the first place in the SPWLA PDDA Machine Learning Competition. Their achievements will be presented at the SPWLA PDDA SIG Conference in October and published in the form of a paper in the SPWLA journal.
The Dreamstar team is jointly guided by Professor Fan Xiangyu, Associate Professor Wu Feng, and Professor Zhang Hengru.
The competition started on March 26thand ended on August 26th. It Attracted teams from China, the United States, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and Canada to participate.
SPWLA, also known as Society of Petrophysics and Well Log Analysts, was founded in 1959 and headquartered in Houston, USA. It is the world's top level technical exchange organization in the logging industry. PDDA SIG, Petrophysical Data Driven Analytics Special Interest Group, was established in 2018 in the context of big data in oil and gas exploration. It is an organization dedicated to data-driven solutions to complex problems in logging analysis and rock physics. (Meng Fan)
