On the morning of October 28^th, the 6^th "National Outstanding Professional and Technical Talents" commendation conference was held in Beijing. Professor Zhao Jinzhou, President of Southwest Petroleum University, along with the other 92 talents were awarded.

"National Outstanding Professional and Technical Talents" is regarded as a great honor for professional and technical talents. It focuses on commendation of emerging talents in the high-quality economic and social development involving major national strategy, major engineering project, major basic scientific research project, key/core technology research and so forth. Since its establishment in 1999, only more than 300 professionals have been awarded the honor.

Professor Zhao Jinzhou is a well-known expert in fracturing and a lead in acidizing fracture in China. For 39 years, he has been committed to establishing China's own fracturing and acidizing theory and technology system, which has reached the world's advanced level. Zhao has led the establishment of the most important fracturing and acidizing research center and talent training base, and trained more than 70% of fracturing and acidizing technology backbone and leaders in China. He has won a second prize of National Technical Invention, one special prize and a second prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress, 8 Special Prize and First Prize at provincial and ministerial level, 5 Special Prize and First Prize teaching achievements at provincial and ministerial level respectively, 95 domestic and foreign invention patents authorized, 36 registered software Copyrights, more than 200 papers and 12 monographs published.（by Rao Sheng）
